What age is Sweet Phonics for?
Sweet Phonics is designed for children ages 3-8. The activities are built for small hands and short attention spans - each one takes under a minute, and a full lesson is about 15 minutes.
What devices does it work on?
Sweet Phonics is available on iPad and iPhone. We recommend an iPad for the best learning experience. Android is not available yet.
How long does each lesson take?
Each lesson takes 12-15 minutes and contains about 15 micro-activities. Short enough for a 3-year-old to finish, rich enough to make real progress.
What method does Sweet Phonics use?
Systematic phonics - the method research says actually works, and what the National Reading Panel recommends. Kids learn the sounds letters make, blend them into words, and read sentences built only from what they already know. No guessing. No picture clues.
How is this different from ABC apps?
ABC apps teach letter names and recognition. Sweet Phonics teaches the actual skill of reading - from individual sounds to blending to decoding words to reading stories. It's a complete curriculum, not a game.
Do I need to sit with my child?
While the app is designed to be self-guided and your child can do lessons independently, parent involvement will help them learn faster. You can track their progress from the parent dashboard.
